5-year-old child falls into borewell in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, rescued safely

Alwar (Rajasthan) [India], May 28 (ANI): A five-year-old child, who fell into a 40-feet deep borewell in Kanwada village in Laxmangarh area of Alwar district on Tuesday, was rescued safely, police said.

The child fell into the borewell next to the well around 10:00 am and was rescued safely after a struggle that lasted for about three hours, the police informed.

The local administration along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and a team of doctors reached the spot and rescued the child safely.

After rescuing the child, he was taken to a government hospital in Laxmangarh and he is fine, Alwar’s Additional Superintendent of Police, Dr Priyanka told ANI.

“After receiving the information, the rescue team reached the spot and the villagers at the local level also cooperated which helped in the recovery of the child. He was taken in an ambulance to the government hospital in Laxmangarh.”Providing information about the child’s health, she added further, “The child is completely fine and is now under the observation of doctors.”According to the information received from the police, this morning, when the 5-year-old son of the owner of the well went to take a bath, he lost his balance and fell into a 40-foot-deep hole caused by the rain next to the well. The child was trapped about 20 to 25 feet below.

Dr Priyanka informed that as soon as information about the incident was received, administrative officials reached the spot and called the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other rescue teams. A team of doctors along with an ambulance was also called there and efforts were made to rescue the child. In view of the heat, water and other food items were supplied to the child. Excavation was done next to it with the help of a JCB.

A large number of villagers were gathered and rescue was carried out on a war footing. On receiving the information, SDM Mahokam Singh Sinsinwar and DSP Kailash Jindal also reached the spot.

Earlier on April 14, a 6-year-old boy, fell into an open borewell in an agricultural field at Manika village in the Janeh police station area of Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district.

The boy was taken out after a 45-hour-long rescue operation but the rescue teams couldn’t save his life.

Additional SP Vivek Lal Singh had said, “NDRF, police, local team, people and local administration worked hard for around 45 hours. The team worked continuously for 45 hours with all the precautions and safety measures but we couldn’t save his life.” (ANI)
