BEIJING, May 27 (Xinhua) — The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

SHENZHOU-18

The Shenzhou-18 crew members, who are currently on board China’s space station, will conduct their first extravehicular activities (EVAs) within the next few days, the China Manned Space Agency announced on Monday.

The astronauts, stationed in the orbital complex for the last 32 days, have accomplished a rotation with the Shenzhou-17 crew, attended to the maintenance and upkeep of the space station platform, ensured the upkeep of the life and health support system, conducted inspections and tests on EVA suits, and prepared for spacewalk.

LNG CARRIER

A domestically developed liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier with a payload capacity of 175,000 cubic meters was launched on Monday in northeast China’s harbor city of Dalian.

According to Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd., this ship is the first large-scale LNG carrier built by the company, measuring 295 meters in length, 46.4 meters in width, and 26.2 meters in depth. It has a design draft of 11.5 meters and a service speed of 19.5 knots.

PLANT DISCOVERY
