Jessica Alba appears to be in a lighthearted mood during lunch with a friend in NYC… after stepping down from her Honest Company

Jessica Alba looked to be in a great mood in New York City on Wednesday after stepping down from her blockbuster Honest Company.

The 43-year-old was photographed out in New York City, wearing a beige vest with buttons, matching trousers and a white t-shirt. Jessica kept it casual with white boots and a matching white handbag.

The actress accessorized her look with gold chunky hoops, a gold pendant, and black shades. Jessica’s light brown hair framed her face and loosely hung down.

The entrepreneur stepped out with a friend two days after she appeared on The Tonight Show, where she spoke about resigning as Chief Creative Officer from The Honest Company after 12 years.

‘I feel like it’s my fourth baby and I sent my baby off to college,’ Jessica admitted to host Jimmy Fallon. ‘It was hard, but I’m ready for my next chapter.’

Jessica, who wore head-to-toe Fendi, sporting a sheer, gray long-sleeve blouse, a burgundy suede skirt, and gray pointed-toe pumps, took a moment to gush over the company’s new CEO.

‘I have Carla Vernon,’ she said, ‘and she’s running the company and it’s great. There’s a whole senior leadership team that’s fantastic.’

Jessica co-founded the eco-friendly baby, beauty, and cleaning products company in 2012 but is now ready to return to the entertainment industry.

Back in February, she launched the production company Lady Spitfire and will make her debut in the female-led action film Trigger Warning June 21 on Netflix.

‘I want to produce more,’ Jessica told Jimmy, ‘and Trigger Warning for me, I love action movies. I love doing action, and I love stunts, so the producers who did John Wick and Sicario, they did this, and I was like, “I want to have like a grounded, cool female-driven action movie.” And so the director was a woman, and the writer who did The Last Pass was a woman. The producers were women. The DP is a woman. Set deck women. So we had a lot of heads of departments in a genre that’s pretty dominated by men.’

Jessica then gave fans a quick synopsis of what they could expect from the movie.

‘Parker is my character, and something tragic happens at home,’ she explained. ‘So my father passes away, and so then I go home to kind of tie things up, and it doesn’t smell right. Things are not really adding up. And she’s Special Forces commando.’

The plot thickens from there, as Jessica spills, ‘She was in active duty when she got pulled out of it and she really unearths this local illegal arms dealing that’s going on in the town and takes on this gang on her own.

Meanwhile, Jessica’s home life is also action-filled for a different reason. The mom-of-three shared that she and husband Cash Warren, who share Honor, 15, Haven, 12, and son Hayes, 6, are gearing up for their oldest daughter’s birthday.

‘They are fantastic,’ Jessica shared. ‘They’re getting big.  My oldest is officially driving and she’s going to have her 16th birthday really soon. I was like, “Your 16th birthday. This is my moment to really shine as a party thrower.” And she’s like, “No, mom, it’s so embarrassing.”‘

Despite trying to convince Honor of her epic party-throwing skills, the teen refused to budge.

‘She’s like, “I just want to have dinner with my friends, like maybe 22 of them or something. And then we’re just going to play games,”‘ Jessica recounted. ‘And I was like, “Oh my god, I have a game guy! We can do stations.”‘

But Honor isn’t looking to take her mom up on the offer. ‘I throw good parties man!’ Jessica quipped to Jimmy. ‘No, she’s not having any of it.’

Although the star won’t be able to use her party planning skills this time, she recently had another sweet reason to celebrate.

’16 years of marriage, 20 years together and forever to go… Happy Anniversary @cashwaren,’ Jessica gushed on Instagram May 19. ‘I’m proud of us for making it this far. There is no real set of rules or guidance that can ever prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family. Through thick and thin we have continually found our way back to each other and have chosen one another. Cheers to us, I love you.’

As for the secret to their long-lasting love? Communication.

‘I think sometimes it’s over communication, sometimes it’s under communication,’ she told Entertainment Tonight in August. ‘It’s all about communicating how you feel.’
